Abstract: From the perspective of document analysis, we survey the major research fields of physics defined by the governments of the US and the UK and then analyze the chief fields, emerging research fronts and fast moving fields of physics and its interdisciplinary studies by making use of the databases of the Institute for Scientific Information of the US. The final part is the conclusion and proposal based on the analysis.
