Abstract:
We briefly review some physical aspects of organic solids, which manifest the crosslinking of physics and chemistry. Form the theories of solitons, polarons and fractional charge to optoelectronics applications, of organic materials we find that there exists a strong interaction between physics and chemistry, which is mutually beneficial. This interdisciplinary crosslinking could also bring about controversy. However, scientific debates pose more and further questions to be answered, which is essential for the advancement of science.
